In which Mio, Yukko, Mai, and Nano set out to experimentally determine the speed of light. They begin with the primitive lantern method. However, Yukko gets a bit too competitive with their lantern reaction times.

Nearly twenty years after Yukko and her friends have graduated and gone their separate ways, she finds herself reunited with Mai, and soon the rest of her friends, under some extraordinary circumstances. She soon finds herself caught up in such bizarre situations as attempted murder, unrequited love, and a shark's ability to solve any social and romantic issue imaginable.

On a freezing stormy day, in classroom 1-Q, four friends play a game together and about half the class doesn't come to school. It's pretty fun, actually. Since there's so many people absent, they don't actually need to do any school work. Free time! Oh, and then the fire alarm goes off.

Yuuko finds one of Mio's manga, However when she reads it she is rather disturbed by the contents. What's more Mai is acting strangely as well. The events that follow change the relationship between the three of them see each other for ever.

At a party, Hakase accidentally ruins the "One Year High School Anniversary" and Nano finally has had enough. All of the Shinonome's might do something they will regret... They also run into a dangerous foe along the way.

When Nano has to be gone for a Required Field Trip, Hakase is left with a babysitter that rubs Hakase the wrong way.
