Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta reader, as an editor in general, I like making suggestions rather then definite changes, because at the end of the day, it's still the author's work. I don't have high standards or anything, but I would appreciate beta-ing a story that was not written completely in text lingo . . . |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My strengths would be spelling, grammar, and punctuation, also sentence fluency and construction. I like to think I'm good at taking a sentence apart and putting it back together with fewer, stronger adjectives and a clearer focus. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I write the way I talk sometimes, which can be hard for someone to understand if they've never heard a phrase before; 'Hellayes' and 'Awesome sauce' are prime examples of this. And I suck at typing . . . ifdgbkfdgbbgkfdgb . . . That crap happens all the time. I spell check everything I write, and often read it out loud for sentence fluency, but sometimes I make mistakes. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer fandoms I'm semi familiar with, like : Inuyasha, Harry Potter, Bizenghast, Loveless, Legal Drug, Family Guy, Teen Titans, Lost, Holes, and The Hannibal Lector Series. I am, however, not unwilling to do a little research. : ) I also adore slash, especially Harry Potter slash, so I'm all ears and open to suggestion. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Other than pedophilic non-con, no. |
