Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
This is my first time creating a Beta-Reader profile so I'm not sure what to expect.
I've written a lot in my life and my skills have developed greatly over time.
I enjoy editing/proof-reading as much as I enjoy writing. Fixing/finding mistakes give me a strange feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment so I'm eager and enthusiastic to help.
If you need me, just send me a PM/e-mail.
My only expectation are that when people look for me to beta-read their works; they should give me a detailed description of their story/ideas/plot/chapter info/etc so I understand what I'm reading.
Also I would like to keep in touch with those who seek my services so that when I have questions I can ask the Author.
And please, I don't like to be rushed. Schools and colleges have started, we're all busy. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I enjoy reading stories out loud, they say you can find more mistakes that way.
I'm friendly, so don't be shy/scared to ask me questions in return or point out edits I've made that you would rather not have.
My comments are often positive and light, I prefer not to use negative comments in fear of making potential/new Writers depressed or lose motivation in writing. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Sometimes I can rush a bit and overlook the small mistakes.
Yes this has happened sometimes when I've already published chapters (after proof-reading them) and still find mistakes or descriptions/sentences that sound awkward. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
So far, I'm familiar with the fandoms listed below.
But overall I have no preference when it comes to genre and pairings.
I don't have an OTP (One True Pairing) as I have tried all of them.
Canon, Het, Yaoi, Yuri, Crack, Slash, Smut you can name them all I've seen some really beautiful ones and some... not so...
So yea, bring on the pairings! |

Hmm... honestly I'm open to all kinds of fanfics/stories.
Just make sure your fanfic fill in one of the fandoms I'm familiar with. ^_^ |
