Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
You email or PM me about your story. If I'm interested, I'll PM back. Yes, really, it's that simple, and I'm really that sweet and loving and gentle and kind and... XD I hope you haven't been frightened away already. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Characterization: I think it's my strongest point. I can keep characters IC, even if your story is an AU and I'm brilliant (lol) at consistent character development. I'll help you develop your characters, flesh them out until they're living, breathing entities to your readers (check out Shadowlit Facades, under my author profile if you don't believe me). Plot direction and planning, spelling, grammar, canonified proofreading are my strengths too. As for writing emotional conflict, action, description... yes I'd say I've gained a lot of experience in those fields, and that I'm fairly well qualified to help you with that. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Infusing humor in a scene, extensive research on a topic, inventing new ideas, sex scenes, writing Remus and non-teenage Tonks... I'm not good at that. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
An OC-centric story, perhaps? Or a story about someone not frequently mentioned in canon. I also love reading Black Family stories, and I think I've got a pretty good grip on the characterizations of all the Blacks and Draco. Though I refuse to portray the snarky little ferret as a Debonair Sex God, not even if you cry and beg me to. I love Ron-and-Hermione-ish stories too and creative Next-Gen stories, though if I don't like the way your characters are heading I won't beta. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Slash. Um, no thank you. And no Weasley Family or Lucius (what is so hot about that man?!) or Snape (greasy bastard) centric stories, please. I despise canon!Ginny (I mean, Ginny after GOF), so I will not beta any epic, passionate romances between the Bot and the Boy who refused to Die... a story with only romance, and no plot, is also a no no. And nothing beyond T-rating too, please. |
