I have been a beta reader ever since, oh, midway through middle school. It's actually part of my school's curriculum to correct each others work by proof reading, so I've been practicing for quite I while. It's always awkward to talk about myself, but I guess truth happens to be the biggest bitch, besides love. My corrections have been taken into account many a time and there hasn't been a time yet where the teacher has questioned why I made that change to their paper.

The way I beta-read should be taken into consideration. First, I read through the story without considering what's wrong with it. Second, I go back and correct the typical mistakes such as grammar, punctuation, etc. And once that's all said and done I go back once more and delve into the actual content of the story. For example, "Did the author do justice in portraying this character in this certain way, and did they provide the reader with enough 'unf' in a scene where it was necessary?"

I MOSTLY (caps on the mostly) read Kingdom Hearts fanfiction. It's my one true love, yo.

I am such a perfectionist when it comes to correct grammar. Do not get me wrong, I have many typos hanging around, but if there's just too much within the first paragraph of the story, I lose interest. I guarantee that I'll be looking over your work from the nitty gritty in the plot to every damn period. I can be harsh. Very.

Presentation adds to the way one views and reads your story!

As I mentioned, yes, I tend to make typos here and there (wouldn't be surprised if I've already made one in this profile...). There are times when I tend to skip over parts that totally do not make sense to me/do not grab me like the author intends, and that usually leads to missed mistakes that I could have caught.

Kingdom Hearts. Hands down. Give me romance. Give me hardcore, give me fluff. Give me yaoi. Give me straight. I'm open for anything.

Recently I've been preferring the original Kingdom Hearts setting over AU. There aren't enough GOOD pre-Kingdom Hearts II fanfics around, sadly. I'd really love to see an amazing one of those involving the author's take on the past of the Organization, etc. I prefer Kingdom Hearts stories with Axel involved, seeing as he IS my favorite character in the series. Roxas and Namine also touch my heart in ways I can't explain. It's a complicated relationship, but it works.

Do not give me Mary-Sues. Do not give me yaoi with a stupid, powder-puff uke and a controlling, emotionless seme. In fact, refrain from making your ukes and semes OBVIOUS. Do not give me million page stories. I'm also not very interested in stories involving constant, no-point drug/alcohol abuse, if that makes a pint of sense. If a story has abuse that has a back story to it--yes, I will like it. If there is absolutely NO meaning as to why your characters are drowning themselves and hanging themselves on branches, I feel incredibly sorry for you.
