Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I have been a beta reader on and off for about three years. I a big believer in good grammar and spelling and I will do my best to help you write the best story possible. I am an easy going person overall, and when I give you a suggestion I know it's just that, a suggestion. However, I do expect if you request my services that you not be surprised when you see a lot of red marks on your drafts. Please don't expect me to write your story for you. I'm here to help you grow as a writer, not to be your "mom" when it comes to writing. I believe the best way to improve your writing is with constructive criticism, so please take it as just that, CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. |

I am a good beta when it comes to grammar and spelling and I am good when it comes to writing descriptions for individual scenes, or vignettes. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I am not as good at helping with general descriptions, ideas or themes. It's your story, I can be a sounding board but I won't write your story for you. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
In general I prefer to help authors who already have a writing style down that they know works for them. I like most fanfictions and am generally willing to help out anyone who asks. Also, I'm not really squeamish, I don't mind reading adult stories. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I don't usually like being a beta for someone completely new to writing fanfiction, but I can help on a sort of "trial" basis. Also, if it's a fandom I'm not familiar with I don't feel I will be the best help if you need story ideas. If it's mostly spelling and grammar needed I'll do my best. |
