Um...as a beta-reader, I'm sort of unexperienced, I guess. I DO have good grammar and spelling and a decent vocabulary. While I'm not a great writer or much of a creative mind, I "get" stories and therefore don't tear down a writer's efforts just because of their style.

As a writer, I have a relatively "immature" style, but I have the off-moments where "thoughtful" kicks in. As a betareader, I think it's pretty much the same.

Um...as for people I'd beta for, anyone's fine with me. Everyone on the site wants to write good stories, and I can relate to that.

I'm decent at both grammar and spelling, and I'm good at catching errors that pesky word processors don't. I like reading other people's stories, and I'm honest but not harsh in my criticisms. If I do critique anything as a betareader, it'll most likely be the writing errors rather than an idea or opinion the writer has. I'm also not one of those strict, English-schoolmarm betareaders that "fix" every "gonna", "wanna", and "ain't" said by an eight-year-old story character, so if you've got a casual writing style, I'll respect that. :)

I'm normally a lazy person, so if you churn out a chapter a day, I might not be able to beta at your pace. Most of the writers I know write at the pace of a chapter a week quickest; I can keep up with that.

In addition, even though I love reading stories and giving detailed feedback, I don't have much creativity, so I'm bad at suggesting plot twists and beautifully-random dialogue. (I've got grammar down pat, though.)

If possible, I'd rather beta stuff from a fandom I'm really familiar with.

I won't betaread anything over T. As much as I'd like to read recommended and well-written stories that just happen to be over T, I'm still of a legal age where my parents would kill me. XD
