Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
You know, maybe the mods on this site just don't do it. Matter of fact, the point of this is that they don't do it. They don't do anything.
I'm sick and tired of seeing these stories with non-existent grammar, IM-speak, crossover stories that are just dumb (you know, Devil May Cry/Super Smash Bros. is just dumb), and whenever I try to give constructive criticism I get insulted and called a neo-nazi.
Sure, we get some good fanfictions on here. But that's become rarer and rarer. We're getting spammed with 8 year olds who think they're god, 15 year olds who act like those 8 year olds, and random trolls.
I want to stop this. You guys want people to want to stop this. So go ahead and spam my inbox with fanfiction's that need beta-reading.

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Grammar, spelling, and the ability to tell if the idea of the fic is so redundant somebody should just make an actual book about it already.
I'm also pretty good at giving criticism, so if that's an option to give people that before they're allowed to post there fic, that'd be cool. I'm good with dialog as well. |

Eh. I'm usually a bit to harsh. If you write a sentence that makes no sense whatsoever, I won't even try to decipher it, as I wouldn't have a chance to understand. |

Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
For the love of god, if your fic is under 1,000 words at the moment, don't even bother sending it back to me. All you'll get is a big fat 'NO' stamped right across the top.
Try to make it so that it'll take longer than 5 seconds to read.
Every fic that has any remote trace of IM-speak will also be sent back with the same, but still very large and annoying, 'NO' stamped across it. |
