Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
When you give me something to read and look over, I tend to really really look over it. I can promise I won't give any "oh, that's was good" or a "you should fix that, but whatever!" I'll let you know where you need to replenish your thoughts and wording for the characters and if it's good, I won't just give you that. I don't like generic wording so I don't use it and I don't exactly like it when you over use it. But at the same time, I don't expect you to have tight vocabluary for everything sentence you write. After all, C.S. Lewis once said: "Don't use words too big for the subject. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite." |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I enjoy reading stories, and analyzing the way people word things. God wired my brain to a different extent, that is really annoying sometimes but when reading, really comes in handy. I tend to stick on something someone writes or says and think about it for moments on end. Oh, and I'm fairly good with coming up with catchy or meaningful titles for your stories. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My weakness is wheather or not the plot is good enough. I'm not in your brain and I have no desire to think for you. I fully believe you have enough creative juices in you to create a plot your proud of. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Definitely drama and angst. These are the two that I prefer over anything else because I live and breathe to think deeply. But I enjoy a good random comedy as well. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Not My Cup Of Tea is sex scenes. I don't do them. Please don't send them to me to read. I don't enjoy stories with an infinite amount of curse words. I have morals and I don't appreciate being asked to read a story that is filled with drinking, illegal drug use or sexual innuendos. |
