Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I've been writing for a large amount of time, since sixth grade, and I'm the kind of person who goes around reading books LOOKING for spelling mistakes and typos. :)
Anyway, a lot of my friends come to me for constructive criticism, so I do have experience. I was the editor of my high school yearbook my senior year, so I can edit, and I can edit harshly. I've often been compared to my eighth grade teacher, who was known for being quite the cruel beta reader. People who have me beta read are often surprised by all the little purple pen marks all over their paper. I've had more than one person get mad at me, trust me. (Some have not come back...) |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Grammar, spelling, and critique. I can also help you make decisions on where to go next, and give you suggestions if you get stuck. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I often feel bad about being so "cruel" when I beta read, but I have to.
I'm a total sucker for a good, fluffy story, or a gripping action/adventure story. Seriously. And if you combine them both together, you will be my best friend forever! Situations that include characters in peril or in tough situations are awesome. :) |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Fiction. Nothing over PG-13 is preferred, but I'll take anything, really. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
No slash or smut. I will not read it. Nope, nada, nuh uh. Sorry. |
