Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I only read odd pairings. So there's both a drawback and a strength. I will read practically anything I know, but will decline to beta if I feel I don't have enough of an understanding of the concepts. For instance, I am not familiar with Hannah Montana (or whatever her name is) and would therefore not beta it. I don't want to beta for an author who cannot handle critiques. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am excellent with history of canon characters (their past), believability (how each character would normally react to a situation, and am excellent using these to make sure characters aren't OOC unless you purposely write them that way. If I don't think a story's plot is believable, I will let you know.
I have a very large vocabulary as well.
I'm online a lot so chances are if you give me a chapter to beta it will be done in under 24 hours. I am good with grammar and spelling as well. I can help with description and sensory writing. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
When editing, I can be a bit harsh. As well, I can be a bit biased if I don't like the direction you write the story in. I get sick sometimes, so I may not be on for a day or two during the month. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I really prefer the classic horror flick fictions (Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Childs Play, and Friday the 13th). As well, I adore Harry Potter fictions (with Hermione as the main character), Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel the Series (Willow as main character), and Law and Order: SVU. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Most Disney shows I will not beta. I can't stand anything with a huge abundance of puppets or penguins (phobia). However, I make an exception for the Muppets and things like Childs Play. |
