Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am a Grammar Nazi. Period. Especially when it comes to sentence structures and word order. I find that with a good sentence structure, a good story becomes a great story.
I'll admit I'm a little slow at beta-ing, and comment a lot. I might hand back a story that has more colour correction than original text, because I ask questions and give my detailed opinion.
I do more than correct grammar, however. I try to give feedback on the characters themselves, and on the storyline. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am very good at spotting errors in general, whether they be homonym mistakes, punctuation, wrong verb tense, etc. I'm also studying as a translator, so I have many language courses. I'm also prety good at spotting whether a character is 'in character' or not, especially Harry Potter characters. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I am slow at beta-ing, mostly because I get easily distracted. Also, if I find that the author of a text completely disregards most/all of my corrections, it is unlikely that I will ever beta for them again. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer being beta for one-shots or short chaptered stories. As a side note, let it be known that I might accept longer stories if the idea is exceptionally good (although you might just want to find a beta that'll take you on for a long story). |

I'll proofread anything and any pairing, but I draw the line at incest and noncon. It makes me uncomfortable. |
