Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm pretty nice to everyone, and I have a slight problem with being overly formal to people I've just met. Thus, I like to leave my comments in a friendly blue color. Much less harsh than red, and easy to identify.
My betareading style: I just say what I think, and try to find anything that's wrong. I'll try to be as helpful as possible.
Expectations: Just have a story that interests me, and I'll be more than willing to help you. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Spelling and grammar errors, as well as weaknesses in the consitency of the story, and bad word choice. Also, if nessecary, keeping characters IC. If you give me a chapter, and I'm on the computer that day, expect it back by the time I'm off. I feel that a promp response is the only polite way for me to beta-read. |

Everything not listed in 'strengths'. I also have a bit of a hard time with fics that are entirely romance-based as I have no real-life experence in that area. Heh. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Adveture stories, especially action ones. Romance is okay as well, but not ones that are enirely romance based - I'd prefer ones like Adventure/Romance, if any. My favorite pairing is Naruhina, if you want me to beta romance, though I'm open to a lot of other pairings too, in varying fandoms. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
NO YAOI. Whether it be BL, or Shounen Ai, we don't want to see it.
NO YURI. It's not that we don't want to see it... (joking. NTAS refrence.)
I'm not reading Yuri becuase it's usually freaking perverted. Yaoi is just creepy. (Of course I only believe that because I'm a boy. If I were female, the persepctives would probably be switched.)
Romance stories where the entire plot is just settiing up two characters. Not something I'm interested in. If I'm going to do romance, then I want it to have some sort of a plot to entertain me.
