Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Well. I've never actually had a beta, though I know what is involved in being one. Most of my fiction output relates to Doctor Who or Torchwood, though I write for other fandoms as well. Also, the majority of my stories are posted here, though I have some on my LJ.
I'm pretty open-minded, and as long as no-one actually attacks me personally, I'll be reasonable and friendly. Who you are, or what you write about, might not be same as me, but that isn't important. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Spelling and grammar. Descriptive writing.
I find it easier to write dramatic scenes than lighter ones, though I am working on that. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Romantic scenes (though I'm working on it).
Comedy
I sometimes have difficulty getting a character's "voice" just right. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Drama, Adventure, Science Fiction. I'll beta Romance/Comedy as well. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Anything "mature"/explicit. I don't mind reading it... I just have difficulty writing it. So don't ask me to beta anything explicit, as it will take me a looooong time to work through it and get it back to you. |
