Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I enjoy candlelit dinners, bubble baths-- oh wait, wrong web site. Well, when I beta I usually read the story over at least two or three times, to make sure I've thoroughly corrected everything-- at least to the best of my abilities. I'm not going to lie, I do occasionally make mistakes and let something slip by, I am human, but I try my hardest not let that happen.
I, for the most part, am a really fast beta. If you catch me when I'm online, it usually only takes me an hour or two depending on the length of the chapter, to have it beta-read and sent back. If I'm not online, that means I'm at school, and in that case it depends on what time you sent it to me, but as soon as I get it, I'll e-mail you back and tell you when I expect I should be finished with it.
I do like to hear the author of the story I'm betaing's input, so if there's a certain way you want something done, let me know. I'm not afraid to let someone know how I want things done, or how I do them, so don't be afraid to tell me how you prefer things. If you don't like the way I do something, tell me; I'll either work on fixing my flaw, or tell you too bad find someone else, simple as that.
Honestly, I love betaing, but it's not something I can't live without. I love having the chance to read a story before anyone else, and to be a part of making it what it is when others get to read it, even if it is just a small part.
I can't help but feel this is an application, so on a closing note for this section, I'm a fun loving person, with a great sense of humor who loves to make people laugh. Give me a chance, and I will you. |

I'm good at grammar, spelling, and vocab. I'm really good at wording, and thinking of different ways to rephrase things so it doesn't sound repetitive or just plain out silly. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
One of my main weaknesses is thinking of titles for stories or chapters. Hahah, another of my weaknesses as a writer is my first story I posted on this site. I must say it rather sucks. One of my most hated weaknesses as a writer though, is how long it takes me to update. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer to beta 'M' rated Yaoi, Slash, or M/M stories over anything, however, I will beta anything, and I mean anything, so long as it meets this criteria. Even if it's not 'M' rated, if it's Yaoi, that's totally fine as well. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm really not one for Yuri, or Het, unless it's in a Yaoi centric story. Aside from that, I don't like overly angsty stories, or death stories, unless it's like a villain or a death from the original storyline (i.e. Zack from FFVII) and the story progresses from there. Other than that, I'm fine with betaing anything (i.e. M-preg, rape, incest, etc.). |
