Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hi, I'm Severe Cabbage. I obsess over spelling, grammar, and punctuation, so I'm very good at fixing those types of errors. I mainly concentrate on mechanics, but I also try to point out problems with plot, etc. I'm generally pretty quick, but I'm a student and sometimes it might be necessary for me to disappear for a while. However, I will not do this without informing people first! I've betaed before actually registering as one, so I know the drill. Anyone can ask me to beta for them, but I'm going to reject you if I can't actually bear to finish your fic. But don't worry, that's pretty unlikely. |

I'm very good at fixing spelling and punctuation errors, as well as problems with grammar. I'm fairly good with characterization if the fandom is one I'm familiar with. I also can spot whether you're sticking to the plot and themes or not, and will try to point you in the right direction! |

I can be a bit too obsessed with the mechanics and not focus enough on the plot. Also, if I don't know the fandom particularly well, characterization can be a problem. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Horror stories are always fun, as well as mystery, supernatural, humor, adventure and suspense. Romance is alright, and I can deal with angst most of the time. I read a lot more books than anything else, so I'd prefer things from that category, although it's not that important. |

Well, I'd naturally love to avoid the Mary-Sues! Also, I don't like fics that are just big puddles of plotless angst. |
