Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Never really did much professional beta work before. So far, I've been beta-reading for friends who ask me to help. And now that I've registered to be a beta-reader here, I ready to read whatever I'm gonna get hit with :D
My beta-reading style...I just check anything I read that feels wrong. I correct errors in the writing and hope it encourages the writer to improve his/her writing skills. I won't suggest anything that would change the story in any way unless the writer asks me for it. Who knows, my head often comes full to the brim with suggestions and advice.
Expectations...well, only that I hope everyone will improve in their writing, imagination, dedication and develop a love for the joys of writing! :D |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I don't think I have any strengths except that I can shoot down mistakes faster that my brother can pick his nose...*wrinkles nose*... |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Hmm...I'm gonna say grammar. And I'm pretty inconsistent sometimes. But trust me, that doesn't happen when I check other people's work for some reason... |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Umm, I like to read stuff that's got a lot of words because of a lot of plot. :D If there's a story that's absolutely pointless but filled with good crack, I don't mind =D |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Plotless stories equals fail! I read a lot of those long stories that go around in circles without meaning whatsoever... |
