Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
When Beta-ing, I use Track Changes on Word - sometimes authors don't get all the changes out if they're just in Bold or Italics - and then I'll usually give my opinion on the story after. I read for plot holes, grammatical mistakes and just plain stuff that isn't working. I'll definitely give you my opinions on what should happen but that's probably just my reader side talking. I don't expect you to use my ideas. Sometimes, getting one suggestion leads to a whole string of ideas. I don't mind long chapters, stories, or swearing.
I am busy so you'll have to let me have at least three days to beta your fic. Usually, I'll be able to get it to you within the day but I can't control what happens so be lenient, please. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My biggest strength is grammar, followed by plot holes. I'll let you know if things are moving to fast or too slow. I usually can pick up on missing words or out-of-context words too. Homonyms are no problem for me. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My biggest weakness is OOC. Unless it's bipolar-ness or something intense like suicidal tendencies or something within the story, if the character is out of character from it's original, I won't notice. Also, if you need help with writing fluffy scenes, I might not be the best help. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I definitely don't mind long chapters as long as, again, you don't yell at me for taking a little long. I am a student and sometimes life is busy. |

M rated fics for sex are hard for me to beta as well as dark stories. |
