Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I have a very compulsive side to me, I try to pinpoint anything that can ruin a good sentence. I also like to think I can critique and suggest whatever else I believe will really move the plot or improve the whole storyline. My whole point of being a beta-reader is to just help someone write to their potential. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm something of a voracious reader, so I'd like to think that I can tell what writing is good from what isn't.
I'm nice, but I'm also honest. If I don't like something, I'll talk to you about it--note that I'm not saying that I demand you to change whatever displeases me with no questions asked on your part; if you ever disagree with my suggestions or corrections, I'd like to think we can talk about it. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm human, I can miss something I should have noticed before, but I do try my best as a beta-reader. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I don't do fluff. I hate most fluff. Therefore I do not want to read fluff (it'll upset my upchuck reflex.)
I also don't mind if you want me to look over vignettes/ prompts instead of multi-chapter fics. I'm fine with both.
I'm perfectly fine with slash, femmeslash or hetero couples (I'm a bisexual so it does help that I'm attracted to all three ;)) I can also be open-minded with whatever pairing you have in mind. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm not sure if I said it before but NO FLUFF.
Also definitely no character-bashing. I cannot stress that enough. I do not like it, I do not read, therefore I do not wish to look over anything like that.
No songfics either. Bleh.
And I prefer my characters actually in character. |
