Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hi. I beta very occassionally and must warn you now that I have little patience with a story that I don't find interesting. However, I am a very diligent nitpicker and you can rest assurred that your story will be evaluated -- with relative honesty, no less! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm good with grammar, including intricacies such as then/than, good/well, who/whom, and-I/and-me, and others. Spelling is something that I can often handle -- if I don't know the word, at the least I can usually assemble a version that SpellCheck will fix. If your plot is too contrived I'll be sure to let you know in no uncertain terms. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My fandoms which I know anything about are somewhat limited. It's very likely that I'll hurt your feelings. You may consider much of what I say unjust. Also, when it comes to world stuff like "When was Elfriba Cragg Minister of the Council thingy?" I have absolutely no clue. Characterization is not my strongest suit. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would very much prefer to do a fandom which I've actually, you know, seen/read/etc. Familiarity is very useful when beta-ing is concerned. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I don't like slash very much unless it's good (femmeslash is /usually/ alright). Smut I can read, but not beta well. If it's ungodly long, I might have problems. |
