Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am a highly critical reader. Bad grammar and spelling are my pet peeves, and I strive to make the world a better and more literate place for all. I love doing my part to help those who want it. I've been proof reading stories, reports, and speeches for my friends and family as long as I can remember. Admittedly, even I make mistakes, but it's human. The point is that I admit to them and I correct them. If anyone wants my help, I'm willing to do my best. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I excel at word choice and grammar. Also, I've been told I am quite strong in the area of dialogue. I can make written speech flow like water and seem just as natural. Also, when I know a character, I KNOW the character. I analyze details in very picky ways; things must be perfect. I hate OOCs, Mary Sues, and Gary Stus. Give me anything with those, and I will not be pleased. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I have a very particular style. Also, I don't know as many animes or mangas or games or televisions shows as most. Thereby, being able to actually judge how well a character is portrayed may be difficult for me. For this, I apologize in advance. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I have no real specifics, but I would prefer to keep the stories I read in the anime category. As for genre, I'll read whatever is given to me and be equally as critical. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I am not really a big fan of crossovers, stories with OCs, or AUs. I will try them, but I may wind up refusing in the end. I apologize, but for me, fanfics should remain fairly true to the series. |
