Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
My main goal as a beta-reader is to help writers to improve their stories by: finding plot holes, character flaws/traits, accurate portal of cannon character's, general interaction, believable OC's, and to weed out any potential Mary-sue's. I do this in addition to looking for grammatical and spelling mistakes. So if you’re looking for a more involved Beta reader I'm your girl. While I will beta for almost any story, I adore poetic style format's and I would love to beta read any poetically formatted story or oneshot.
Warning: you must be able to take constructive criticism and be willing to be flexible with your character(s) and/or plotlines. Be warned, I tend to favor the manga over the anime when it comes to writing in a Manga/Anime fandom. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I only beta for stories in a Anime/Manga fandom in which I have read all the manga and watched all of the anime for it. I only beta for stories in a T.V. Show fandom that I have watched all the episodes for and done additional research via internet, books etc. I only beta for stories in a Book fandom that I have read all the books for and done additional research via internet.
I know all the cannon characters and story arches & plot lines so I can definitively give correct information. I am currently getting my major in English and Creative Writing and happen to be rather good at creative writing in general. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I am horrible at spelling. I can read and reread one of my story's and not find the error that has been there for months (hence why I have my own beta reader). I can not guarantee that I will find any/all spelling mistakes in your story. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer to work on stories that have cannon or at least plausible character pairings because I have a hard time betaing for somthing I can not see happening. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I will not Betaread any shoujoai,yuri, shounenai, yaoi, slash or femslash because I can't write for somthing I can't see happening, nor will I write any oneshots for an OC or OC related topic. |
