Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I like reading fanfiction and I have a good understanding of the english language. I usually sit down and take god time when I read a chapter, preferably reading it more than once trying to get a larger feel of the chapter and story in whole. Anyone who wants to use me will have to accept the fact that I can be brutally honest when expressing my opinions, and the fact that after I recieve a chapter it will mostly take between 24-48hours to get it send it back(along with a short summary of my opinion on the chapter of course). |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I usually have no problems in spotting other peoples mistakes, and my grammatical knowledge is enough to help out in that area as well. Also I'm a very good idea-buffer and sadly my head has been overrun with plot bunnies so I often have many theories and ideas that can help a story along. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not the quickest worker in the world and as I said it should normally take between 24-48hours before the chapter is returned. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Romance/Humor.
Action/Adventure.
Humor/Parody.
Evil Harry.
Dark Harry.
Independent Harry (as long as the fic is unique and not the standard get a large inheritance or letter from sirius/his parents and then fuck everything up)
Anything similar to Rorscach's Blot or nonjon. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Angst/emo Harry.
Fluffy Romance. (usually makes me want to throw up)
Super Harry, where he gets all sort of powers and is the heir to god know how many ancient powerful families and the like and lets nt forget he often gets a huge blody fortune as well that he uses to fuck up things for dumbledore.
Severitus. (eeeeehw)
Slash. sorry but all those Draco is a veela or vampire and Harry is his mate fics have completely ruined any chances for this genre to be a hit with me.
Manipulative Dumbledore. (VEEEEERY few of those fics are good) mostly it follows the same pattern all of them and in the end it gets tiresome.
Mary Sues. Really it's fine that you bring in OC's but put some work into them and make them complex characters, to few people who uses OC's acually do this. |
