Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
When I have the option, I usually send back two drafts; one with notes on what to correct, and one with my corrections on it. I like contact by e-mail, best.
Know that I could take anywhere from a half an hour to a week and a half to finish editing a chapter. But please, expect to be corrected; this means that you shouldn't be offended if I tell you that I think a particular section sucks. Not that I do this often, but I beleive in honesty. :p
And I AM a 'mean' beta. I try my hardest not to overlook things, but I will correct anything that I beleive needs to be corrected.
Also, keep in mind that I am only human. Interpret that as you will. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Spelling, plot-formation (damn, I love it when people ask me for help with this), story-flow, and basically letting you know if your story makes any sense. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Grammar. Gah, I find it overrated. I can still help with it though. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Ok, well, I REALLY prefer the Twilight fandom, but if it's something else I'm familiar with, let 'er rip. E.G.:Warriors (Erin Hunter), Gemma Doyle Trilogy (Libba Bray), Inheritance Trilogy (Chris Paolini), Land Of Eylon (dammit, I forget...), Bartimaeus Trilogy (John Stroud).
I WILL do crossovers if it makes any sense. Like, a Sailor-Moon and Twilight crossover I will IMMEDIATELY trash. Also, books only. T.V. is for lazy people who never bothered to learn how to read. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Meh, I can put up with anything. Go ahead, try me. |
