Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello there! If you're reading this then you must be looking for a beta reader! Well, I'm happy to serve! I hold a firm belief that a beta reader exists for grammer, spelling, sentence construction assistance and a simple readers' opinion. As such I do not criticise people for the way they write unless they specifically request my opinion. I am also very specific about Canonical work. It should match the character(s) in question, and if it doesn't, I will let you know. Unless your story is completely AU then it really doesn't matter does it? :) |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am very careful about spelling, grammer, punctuation, etc. In my humble opinion a appearance and legibility of a story can either make or break it. I know the alternate spellings of both the American and British form of English and what I am unsure of, I will research.
I am also fairly well versed in history of all kinds. I love all that is called the past and generally know it well. Once again, if I don't know it, I will learn.
I have a fairly well developed ability to note what will be of interest to a casual reader, what will catch their eye, and what will bore them to death. :)

My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I tend to lean toward stories of a more serious dispostion. I may not be quite as quick with humourous stories, and am completely worthless when it comes to most romance. My few exceptions are the listed in the categories which I've chosen.
Timewise....I have very little of it, but am happy to make time when someone needs me. I would prefer shorter stories or oneshots as they take less time, but depending on the story I will most likely take multi-chapters as well. Though short notice can't be done. I have a full time job and many other priorities that take precedence. If you have a certain deadline it's best to let me know way in advance. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would always prefer Sherlock Holmes stories over all else because he's...well...Holmes! But I am quite fond of Zorro and Doctor Who and will be delighted to beta for them as well. |

I will absolutely under no circumstances beta read stories that involve, include or mention:
Sex
Slash
Crude Language Involving Reference to God or Jesus
Bashing of Christianity or God
Though violence is perfectly fine. |
