Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I've completed a few professional editing courses in college, and I'm very much in favor of good grammar. I like longer descriptions, so please don’t be afraid to send me something with run-on sentences and winding paragraphs; I practically live off this stuff. I love reading conversation as well, however, even if my preference mostly lies with descriptions. If you need someone to make sure something makes sense, or if the characterization is on the spot, I can most certainly help. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Grammar is certainly a strength. I'm also very good with characterization. Even if my view of a character doesn't quite match yours, I can usually configure my thought process to encompass the difference in opinion. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I like long words. I like complicated terminology. I might substitute some words that might seem just fine the way they are with vocabulary that is unnecessarily sophisticated. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
My favorite stories are humor, action/adventure, and perhaps a handful in the drama/romance category. I can certainly read over angst, but I won't be of much assistance if it's ridiculously dramatic to the point of cliche. I have a few favorite pairings, truthfully, but I can remain quite apathetic over which two characters you're pairing together. (OTP: Reffie =) ) |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Teenage Angst. Can't stand the stuff. Yaoi is also not something that I find appealing. Actually, I find it ever so slightly disturbing when involving the characters I like. |
