Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm willing to take on stories as a beta reader. However, I can't take on too many, but I'm willing to help the ones who need it the most. I'll probably get to it whenever I can, which is more often than the times I update!
I'll probably have to work it out with the author him/herself, but that's just me. If you want to see my work, go to www.fanfiction.net/~hikarikame. Pretty obvious, but I felt that it'd be best if I put that in there anyway.
I can help edit any story at all, but that will only reach as far as grammar, punctuation, etc. If by chance I have read/watched that series before, then there is the option of having me help with the characters and dialogue, and maybe plot. If you don't want me to do that, then it's obviously okay.
The best way to get the most out of my help is to contact me. Tell me your story, where you're headed, the plot. That way, I can see the picture AND help with the small pictures too. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm mainly good at understanding characters, and creating plot and plot twists. I can even understand and appreciate even the most "boring" of books, like the Giver, the Chosen, etc. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Run on sentences. Occasional bad word-choice, which means it seems a bit awkward sometimes. English is not my first language, but currently I am kicking butt! I have edited other peoples' stories before, so I'm not a complete newbie. I also tend to write first person the way I talk, which means they'll be a little bit overboard. I'm trying hard to reel that in these days. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Yaoi. Teehee. But I really have no problem with any story at all. Like I said, talk to me first. You might have to tell me about a story, or I might have to go research, but I can still at least help with English. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm just going to warn you, if the story is bad to me, I will suggest other options, but like I said, I don't have a problem with any kind of stories. Maybe Mary/Gary-Sue's? But some are good, so yeah. |
