Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am a very interested reader of stories, and have recently discovered that I am better at this than writing. If I am sent a chapter from an author, I will do everything I can to make sure to get it back as soon as I can, so it can be posted. I will not change anyone's story dramatically, but I promise I will polish it up in any way I can. You can trust me.
Though this may be a given, if you choose to tell me information about what will happen in the future of your story, I won't tell a soul about it. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I have a very critical eye, and am very good at spotting out spelling/grammar mistakes, and can also help with minor plot details in any way I can. br /

I think of myself as reasonably fast when it comes to deadlines. Depending on how long it is and how dramatically it needs to be edited, usually 1-5 days. |

I must say, that if I am reading very long paragraphs, that I tend to skip sentences or lines, so I might tell you to break it up. If you are a long-paragraph-liker, you might not want to have me as a beta-reader.br /

I also have a fear when it comes to actually changing the plot; I may think that something significant needs changing that you don't, and I'll say so, but if you disagree with me, than I will let you decide. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I love romance, angst, humor, friendship, and virtually all genres. I'll also do oneshots and works in progress. I am an open person.br /

I will do smut and slash, because I love the stuff, but if it is, please check with me to make sure the pairing is okay? Not to sound picky, but I think that I will do a better job of editing something if the pairing is to my liking. Just send me a PM if you're unsure. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm not big into tragedy, horror, or thriller, but will beta for them. Also, if you/your story is at all homophobic,sexist, or racist, just stay away. I'll get mad. (Unless it is from the POV of a certain character and that is how you expect them to react, or course!)br /

If you're going to be one of those people who asks me to beta for you, but them loses interest in your story the next week, just don't ask me. I will keep pestering you. If you're busy and can't update, that's fine, but let me know, okay? |
