Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I like reading, and though sometimes I get bored easily, I finish what I start. I usually enjoy shorter fics, but if I like it enough, I'll read a 13 chapter-12 page per chapter story in 2 days. I just hope you try to correct obvious mistakes yourself! I hate solid criticism, so I assure you I can find at least one thing I like in your style! And I assure you I can deal with your pairing. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Little typos annoy me, so I fix them, though it might take a second read over. I try to look at the flow as well. If it's a run on and makes no sense, I'll read it five times or more and try to help you make more sense of it. If it sounds like you didn't even try to add details, explain yourself, or if it sounds like it was written by an 8 year old, I will slam you on it (Though I will be polite about it). |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Sometimes, my sense of humor differs from the average reader, so you might get one response from me, then a totally different POV from some one else. I also get a little lazy so...I don't really try past spelling and grammar on occasion. And important to remember: I'm still in school, so don't expect me to catch each joke if it's above a high school level, or you'd only get it if you lived some where like California or New York...or Illinois! |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer medium length chapters or oneshots, usually pertaining to humor (Humor is my favorite! (: ), romance, fluff, or action/adventure. And in category. I'll tolerate any/all pairings, including slash. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Longer stories involving abuse/rape and several chapters, or stories where there's a lot going on at one moment in the same area are harder for me, especially when it doesn't really explain who the characters are. I probably won't beta for you if I've never seen the work you're writing about.br /br /

Also: I strongly believe that if a story doesn't make you laugh/squeal at least once: It's not worth reading. Therefore, I'm probably not your gal if it's an angsty, drama filled, or full of gore. |
