Beta Description
Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I've been sharing and editing writing with online friends for some time now, and I consider myself experienced. And I've been reading fanfiction forever. Surely that counts for something? :)

I'm tedious when it comes to grammar, but I don't look at it as very important. What's really important is tone and phrasing. I watch for the writer's voice in their words, and make sure that the phrases don't sound awkward together. And the tone of the piece often affects the mood-if the tone is different than the intended mood, the writing comes out as awkward.

Feeling is another necessary part of writing a story. If you don't have emotion and feeling in your words-even if you're describing a rock-then your stories will be boring to read. I try to help writers overcome that.

No matter what, feel free to contact me. If I don't know what show/book/etc you're talking about, I'll tell you nicely, and ask if it's possible to understand your story otherwise. I can also give you advice on other things, if you wish. Don't be afraid to contact me!
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Grammar. It's the easiest thing to notice when you're proofreading.

Vocabulary. The larger choice of words you have, the more easily you will be able to convey what you mean.

Dramatic tension. You don't need to have just one climax. And that climax doesn't need to be a point. It can be much longer, drawn out. As long as the drama is sustained.

Characterization. Everything your character does or says-it needs to be realistic. It must be. Otherwise, your character will be flat and boring, and fickle if you decide to change a character trait halfway through the story. The story is ABOUT the characters. They're the most important part. Don't let anyone tell you different.
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not very good at action scenes. At all. AT ALL.

I'm not very eloquent with dialogue. Sometimes it comes out as rather lame and flat-while other people let it flow, and it sounds so incredible. If I said I didn't envy them, I'd be lying.
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Fluff is cute. I'm a hopeless romantic, I must admit.

I'm a big fan of relationships. No, not the romantic kind, necessarily...just relations between people. Conflicts are love.
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Explicit sex scenes. They're boring. /unpopular opinion?

Slash, gay, yaoi, etc. Sorry, I support homosexuals, but I can't get into that mindset and it doesn't work for me.
