Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm pleased you wish my services as a beta-reader. I vow to be honest, fair, tactful, and thorough. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Steady the Canon, Soldier
For good fanfiction, you must be in tune with the universe it takes place in. Although an author may take certain liberties with his or her own work, the fic should overall still mesh with the canon it takes place in.
This includes: character development, keeping canon characters in character, and continuity |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm still new at beta-reading, so I don't honestly know of any weaknesses in the field other than being new.
You'll have to forgive me if my commentary flows a stil strangely or if you don't understand what I'm getting at in some areas. Con tact me and I'll surely rectify this.
A before E except after D. No, wait...
I am not the best at noticing spelling errors. I will spot them, but not as sharply as other might. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Although I beta all fanfiction, I really much prefer to beta one-shots, fics planned for a short two or three chapter run, or multi-chaptered fics with short chapters.
This is more for your benefit than mine, as I'm still in college, and must focus studying, term papers and such. for me to suddenly drop out as your beta in the middle of your story is unfair to both of us, so I'd prefer to avoid the matter altogether. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Please, nothing with the main focus on Original Characters. I certainly don't mind betaing fics with OCs in them, but not when they're the main focus, and take up the majority of the story.
I'd also prefer not to beta over romance fics, for the most part. |
