Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello! Yes, I have decided to enter the wonderful world of beta-reading! -Happy dance- ... -Shot- Anyway, even though I'm in college, I'm usually able to send chapters within a few days, depending on the length, what kind of work I have do to for school, and a few other things. Um, if it doesn't say anything anywhere in this profile, I just wanna let you know that I will only beta read Avatar: The Last Airbender stories since that's the only fandom I'm into when it comes to fan-fiction. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Um, I've been writing stories/poems for years, and I always got the best grades in writing assignments in school. A lot of what I write is influenced by other things that I read, though I don't know if you consider J.K. Rowling or some of the popular A:TLA writer's here "good"... |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Weakness... Oh boy... Sometimes, I mis-interpret what you're trying to imply, so I may change something that you may want to keep in the story as is. I'm the kind of person you need to explain things to (like where/when this takes place if it's not already in the story, or if it's an AU, let me know!) Also, there may be a few minor typos that I'll miss, so... yeah. I don't know what else to say... |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Kataang. I absolutely LOVE Kataang! I also like Tokka and Sukka, or any CANON pairing (and maybe a few crack-pairings here and there)! I also love humor stories and romance stories (lotsa FLUFF preferred, but I wouldn't say no to light romance), basically any genre except for tragedies (more info below). |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I will not beta read Zutara fics, as it is against my religion, I won't read Taang, or any other rival ships of Kataang I'm not trying to bash those who ship these pairings, but Zutara, Taang, Jetara, anything that has Katara and/or Aang paired up with someone else besides each other, I just... can't do. UNLESS it's something purely crack like Aang/Zuko or Aang/Sokka, Katara/Toph or something like that.
Something that I WILL read over, but I would much rather NOT, is character death, unless it's Aang killing Ozai or if you're writing about someone that's already dead (like Katara and Sokka's mother) or something like that, but any of the main characters dying, I would rather not look over one of those because I'm overly sensitive like that... I can't think of anything else at the moment, but I may add some more later. |
