So...if you want me as a beta, then that's fine, you may totally send me your stories whenever you want. I'm a pretty extensive reader, so when you give me something of yours, expect a ton of writing back from me. You took the time out to write it, so I'm going to take the time to tell you everything I thought about as I read it. I know I love it when people tell me in equal parts what I did well and what I could work on, so I think it's fair to extend the courtesy on to those who want it. When I read a story, I focus first on flow of the sentences and grammar/spelling/punctuation & all that good stuff. On the first runthrough, I will send you back a PM full of direct quotations from your story along with my personal take on them. It's my way of pointing out both the particularly good and the particularly needy sections of the story. Then, when that's all over and done with and you've sent me back the cleaner version, I will comment in great detail (maybe with more quotations, depending on how English-teacher-savvy I feel that day) on what matters most: characters, style, and pace. If your characters feel flat to me, your style is too naive or too prosy, or your pace is too fast or slow for my taste, believe me when I say I will tell you to work it out! However, I will also provide you with ways you can fix it; that way, you won't be too far out in the cold, hopefully. Once you've got those bugs worked out, you finally, finally, finally send me one last version of the story, which I skim through before giving you the okay to post.br /

Is this a long process? Yes, it is. But I prefer to work in the quality-over-time school of thought; I want your story to be the best it can be, so I'm going to take my time on it, as should you. By the end, you should have a piece you can be proud of, and I'll be damned if I don't say something about your work that should be mentioned.br /

I'm quite honest, and pretty balanced in how I express myself - that means you will see constructive criticism and praise that's totally real. I'm also good about reading and responding in a short amount of time, because I know how frustrating it is to have to wait for some kind of feedback from someone about something you write. I'm also cool with just chatting - my PM is always open, and I usually do reply, or at least read and get back to you in a couple of days. And, if you want to get a different beta because you just don't like me or how long I take or something like that, I'm perfectly fine with it; I wish you all the best with your next beta!

I think my occasional perfectionism can be considered a weakness; sometimes, I get totally high-strung over nothing, which can be kind of annoying. I'm also notorious for my rambling, which is obvious on this bio, lol, but I'm good about backing off if you find it irritating. My spelling and grammar might sometimes be a tiny bit off, so don't take everything I say completely for granted; or, I might miss something altogether, so don't rely on me completely for conventions. I'm also no good with action scenes; if you have an action scene you want my help with, then I'm sorry, I won't have much to say! I might also lose the mail that has your story in it, so be prepared to possibly send me another one, if I accidentally can't get it back. :P I'm a mildly irresponsible person, but I try my best not to be - your stories are treasured jewels in my inbox, but sometimes my finger has a habit of hitting the wrong button when I'm in a hurry.

The fandoms I like and am familiar with are Harry Potter, NCIS, House, and PotC. Anything else, ask me if I know it - if I do, great, if not then when you send me your story, give me a brief rundown of the series plot, the characters etc. so I can beta with more accuracy.br /

Romance and drama are probably my favorite to read/beta, but I wouldn't say no to a good mystery or something. :) Stylistically, I'll take anything, because if it's written nicely, then it'll be great no matter what it is!

I refuse to read slash in general. I'm sorry, but I simply won't do it. And NO TWILIGHT, or I come running after you with a dead fish. A really, really stinky one too.br /
