Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello, I am Chocolat-chan! I am a Beta-reader that will beta just about any story (as long as it doesn't contain SasuSaku and NejiTen; only exception is that it's minor or barely hinted) but I tend to like Sakura stories better than other characters. My style is to help your grammar, punctuation, flow, and spelling. I will change words to make them sound more sophisticated, purge unneeded commas or marks, change words to help the flow of the sentence and make it sound non-awkward, and ensure the Japanese words (if any) are spelt right and used in a correct situation. If someone wants to have me Beta them, I have few requirements:
I don't Beta SasuSaku or NejiTen and Sakura must be a/the main character, and that I can input a little Beta-note at the bottom if I wish to (just something saying I beta-ed it and any little notes I want to point out). Easy, no? I'm very flexible. Also, don't be afraid to ask for my opinion of things; I enjoy helping others with their ideas and getting them to flow. I'm naturally a fun loving person and I enjoy working with others! I'll also try my hardest to send back your chapter as soon as I can! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I excel at bringing a larger selection of words into a story instead of repetitive, boring ones. I also am very fast at sending the chapter back quickly. I've also drilled the rule of dialogue into my mind, so any mistakes that I can find in dialogue will be purged immediately and corrected. I don't mind reading a lot, so I can survive reading a huge chapter. I'm also able to help with characterization, and if I feel like it and really like the story I may draw artwork for the story (but that's rare, since I'm busy with other projects and Beta-ing). I can work with just about anyone too. I also Beta Yuri! |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
...Weaknesses...Well, when I'm lazy, I'm LAZY. I can't help it. I also tend to get lost in something for some time, but I try to not stray too far. I also get preoccupied with my own Fics--my Fics are my top priority, y'know? Also, I'm very picky about pairings and main characters... The/A main character should be Sakura and she should get more screentime, and the pairings should never include NejiTen or/and SasuSaku. NEVER. I don't Beta any stories with Yaoi either... No lemons or limes either... Sorry! |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'd rather Beta stories with Sakura as the main character. I'd also enjoy Beta-ing the Sakura pairing I like more than the others (but I like all of them!) like NejiSaku. I also enjoy Crack/Random stories! Fluff is also liked... Hm, other than that I believe I am very flexible otherwise. I also love crossovers!! |
