Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta reader, I'll make sure the story not only flows nicely and had a good plot, but also that small mistakes in grammar and spelling won't distract the reader from the story. I love reading fanfictions and I always love to help make things more polished or more clear. Beta'd stories are usually much better than unbeta'd ones! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I can't stand bad grammar, so it always jumps out at me and is easy for me to correct. I can generally also make sure the story doesn't move to quickly (or worse, too slow!). |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm only human! Sometimes I do miss the small things (like a typo here or there). Also, while i like stories that include a lot of attention to detail, I tend to zone out a little in long-winded explanations (i.e. the LONG history of an event, or the like). That's when I'm READING stories, though. When beta-ing, I'd be much more careful. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer stories that actaully have a little bit of depth to them, and don't need so much work that they basically have to be re-written. And I don't mind yaoi or slash! |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Ehh... not a big fan of yuri. I'd still beta it if someone wanted me to, but I don't usually like how it's written. |
