Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I usually always look over any piece of writing my friends have to submit for a school project merely because not only do I feel like I have to (I'm very nitpicky when it come to proper writing), I'm also usually the one they come to. Whenever I post something of mine, I usually type it up, check it over for mistakes, leave it alone for a day or two check it again, leave it alone for another day and check it one last time because I feel that this way it gets the story fresh in your mind and you might catch something you missed before. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm pretty good at spelling and usually always notice the misuse of words like your/you're and there/their, where/were when I'm reading over somebody else's work. It just jumps out at me. I'm also fairly good with semi-colons, |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I have problems with commas, I think I tend to overuse them when I should start a separate sentence. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I guess, I would just rather beta things I've read. I guess I'd also like reading things I'm a fan of, but I'm not against beta-reading something I'm not supporting. I really like ShikaTema and Sand Sibling fics, but like I said, I'm open even to characters I dislike. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'd rather not do any yaoi or yuri or anything that really explicitly describes characters having sex. I don't it being mentioned, but I don't really want to read all these specifics details or anything like that. I don't have anything against these things, I just can't beta them. |
