Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
(Tems is rarely on ff.net so this is about me, Cece... mostly) Okay, well I can meet deadlines, read thoroughly, quite critical and mature for my age, which I get told a lot and take quite seriously to making sure I'm still seen as this, so I can handle lemons, gore and really graphic things.
-begin rant- I would only accept being someones author if I can actually READ what I'm being sent. Seriously, how can I correct things if I can't READ/ UNDERSTAND it. I really hate bad grammer and spelling. There is no point to writing a fic for others to enjoy if they can't understand a word. -end rant-
Anyway, I would try to refrain from changing a lot by maybe focusing on sentence structure, whether it makes sense and spelling but if I think what I'm about to do will change the writing drastically I will talk to you. I would probably keep the original piece and make a copy incase you don't like the changes made to the copy. |

Spelling. I would have to give myself a 7 out of 10 for spelling, hey, but that's what spell check and auto correct are for. |

Hmm, well, I like to laugh and I'm quite flexible when it comes to types of stories but peotry and sci-fi aren't my strogest. Overall, I wouldn't mind beta-ing any of the catergories but I would try to stay away from the catergories listed in the previous sentence. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
First of all COMPLAINERS, UNREASONABLE PEOPLE AND FLAMERS. Yaoi and Yuri stories (I have no experience with this stuff). Stories that praise Karin from Naruto (as you can see by that short sentence I don't like her but that doesn't mean that I hate fics with her altogether). Mushy stuff (Tems and I both don't go for the giry girl thing but they're prbably a few fics that are an exceptions to this). Pairings we don't like. Pointless things (though in my opinion this sounds hypocritival as 'small deal or big deal' was one of those 'hey I'm bored, I should write something!' fics). I will not accept utterly imature things (this links in with my matureness) like, 'she said poo...hehe'. Stories that bash my fav. character. Mary-Janes. Stereotypical stories (We hate them. I, for one hate the girls are weak and black people are all 'ganstas' stereotypes. I'm not weak and I don't go around in 'fly' outfits looking for some man candy and sugar daddies.) |
