Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Um, hello, I'm not sure what to say here except that I am a major stickler for grammar and spelling errors, uh, I'll do my best to aid anyone who asks for my help with characterization or anything of that nature and I promise not to be offended if you decide not to take my ideas. After all, it is your story, not mine, I am merely trying my best to help. Uh, I don't really have a particular style of beta-reading. I guess I'll jsut read it, do my best to suggest improvements and then send it back to the writer to do with my comments what he/she will. My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Um, I am excellent at grammar and spelling, even though the computer can help you with that, I have a pretty good eye for detail, so if you confuse timelines or character descriptions I'll catch them. Also, if you character isn't very believable or a Mary Sue, I am excellent at original characters. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not really sure what to say here except that if you want me to Beta a story, I will do my best to help you in any way that you want. I can't really think of weaknesses because in all honesty I have never been a beta before, except for my own stories. But please don't let that discourage you from contacting me. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Um, I am a sucker for romance stories, anything with some action/adventure in it is also good. I like OC stories, actually sometimes I prefer them to stories with all mainstream characters, but I'll beta either. Uh, I don't really know what else to say. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I do not like Mary Sue's, so if that is the intention you have for your character please don't send your story to me. I also do not particularly like slash stories. While I really do not have a problem with anyone in the Gay Community, slash stories are jsut not my cup of tea. I'm not a fan of SciFi stories, or horror. I can't really think of anything else... |
