Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Ok, I'll beta read anything, but I'll pay closer attention to conventions than things like characters acting right and such. So...yup. I promise I'll try to do as good as I can! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm really good at wording things to make them sound better and keeping ideas in line. Pretty good with grammar as far as commas and punctuation go, as well as spelling! Great at spelling. And if you need help with a plotline, ask nicely and I might help. I've had to do that with every one of my stories, so...yeah, I don't mind helping others. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Weaknesses...I often get so wrapped up in a story it takes me several reads to catch everything. Also, I like to edit slow. Fragments and run-ons and distinguishing between the two doesn't come too easily for me, and in the case of poetry, I can be anywhere from slightly to blindingly inept. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I like betaing original plotlines that move fast or moderately fast and aren't glaringly obvious with where the story will go next. Also, it's really nice when someone obviously has their story mostly or completely planned out before they post. It shows they care about their work. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I refuse to beta slashes. RE-FUSE. Or ones where the main character dies so you can take their place, or something along similar lines. Sorry. Get rid of them in an original, not tacky way, then we'll talk. Kay? |
