Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am foremost a writer and videographer, and then subsequently I am a gamer, an artist, and a girl.
I am an honest editor: while encouraging, I do not sugarcoat; at the same time, my criticism is always constructive.
Anyone that has wishes of 'acquiring my servies' needs only to PM me and await a response. I think it's necessary for me to say that if you do choose to have me as your beta, I ask that you respect my opinions and my comments, even if you do not agree with them. No one likes having their opinions thrown back in their face, especially when they have been respectfully presented. Also, please note that this is no longer my primary fanfiction account, although the email address connected to this account is frequented for its connections to other sources. The only relevant work here is that of Live and Let Die: Reqiuem, but my most recent writing is not on this profile. If you wish to view a more recent sample of my own writing, please go to the search bar and enter 'Riddlehum' under 'authors.'

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
As an AP-Literature student and an aspiring screenwriter, I have a good grasp of plot, perspective, evolution or consistency of characterisation, and of both the identification and creation of layers of meaning within a text; I also take the time to suggest ideas or add my comments and thoughts about aspects of a writing piece. I have an abnormally strong understanding of human psychology for my age, which is just a few weeks shy of eighteen. I consider myself to be very thorough, and thankfully I also posses sufficient knowledge of sophisticated grammar. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I type with only two of five fingers on my right hand, due to various injuries whose recovery time altered my rote: thus, I tend to make some typing mistakes out of hastiness. I do my best to catch accidental spelling and gramamr errors, but I am human and I will miss some. Verbosenss has always been a weakness. So many words, not enough space in a sentence! I work on a strange schedule sometimes, and since I am nearing the end of my senior year, things may get a bit rocky for a while. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I don't really have a preference, but I do enjoy the short ficlets, like snapshots, that have that nice little emotional punch. :) But I also enjoy beta-ing and reading the long, intricately-plotted chapter stories as well. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Yaoi is not really my style, but I am still fairly flexible. I can handle smut in small quantities, but I will not tolerate the horrid fan-servicing of multichaptered fics of nothing but plotless and unrealistic orgies. (Nobody likes an unrealistic orgy!) Swearing is not an issue, although I will certainly comment if the use of profanity becomes unrealistic or impractical. I am also not entirely enamoured of |
