Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hi, I've never beta'd before, but I'm pretty decent at spelling and grammer. I'll take 'hot off the press' stuff, but a quick re-read is appreciated. I'll tell you if something is just very unlikly, or incredibly not possible (say, a two-year-old learning to play the cello). I'll tell you the truth about my opinion of your story, but I'll try to be nice about it. That's my policy and I'm sticking to it.
Anyways, PM me, I'll give you my email address so you can send me your story. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
As above stated, my spelling and grammer is fair enough to pass. I'll speak my mind, telling you if it's just awesome or needs work. Ugh, I'm repeating myself... |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm...not the greatest with plot. If a story is interesting, I don't care where its going. Kind of like 'life's a journey, not a destination'. Also, I can be kind of a smartass. This may or may not come through in my beta-ing. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I like to read angst, shoot me if that makes me a bad person. Something that hasn't been done before is always cool, or if you have a new take on an old idea. That's just the preferences off the top of my head. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Sometimes, really non-canon pairings make me cringe. Don't give me lemons just for the sake of lemons, but I can read them if the story is going somewhere, other than more lemons. I'm not the greatest fan of fluff, especially the corny stuff that will rot your teeth. Sorry. |
