Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
If you'd like me to beta-read your stuff then you have you write in proper English. "U" instead of "you" and "4" instead of "four/for" is not going to cut it. I'd rather gouge my eyeballs out than read that. And I have seen that on this site, sadly. You must use spell check. If there are a few spelling mistakes I can handle it. But if it's riddled with spelling mistakes because it was written in notepad I will not read it.
I'm not a spell checker, but I will correct grammar. My main focus will be constructive criticism, because you should proof read it once yourself before posting it. And I've found that it's easier to spot mistakes and have an objective opinion if you don't stare at it for hours on end.
Now... OCs... I'd prefer to read a story that sticks to the characters created by the actual author, because OCs tend to be Mary Sues. I'll still read a story if there's an OC, and will tell you, no nonsense, if your charrie is a Sue or not.
If you can't even spell the characters' names right you shouldn't even bother writing. If you love something enough to write a story about it you can at least spell their names right. And if you're not sure, CHECK.
I answer beta requests and beta the stories themselves very quickly, as I have no life and I'm on the computer nearly every day. This might change when I get a job, and I am planning on getting a job, but I will let you know here if that happens. |

Not so good with dialogue. Horrible with dialogue. (I've gotten better with dialogue, though.) And more often than not, I feel like my writing is rushed. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I adore SasuNaru. Loooooove SasuNaru. And Rikora. But it doesn't have to be a pairing story. And at the moment I'm more interested in betaing one-shots, rather than full fledged fics. |
