Beta Description
Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Usually when I beta I look for grammar mistakes, plot holes, rhythm, flow, and characterization (if I know the fandom). I am a fairly harsh beta, but I'm never mean. I tend to be very meticulous and detailed, and I do offer suggestions. Because I tend to be detailed, my beta-ing is a bit slow at times.
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I can spot plot holes and illogical situations/reactions very well. I can also pick out characterization inconsistencies, provided I know the fandom.
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Grammar is not my strongest point, although I think I'm fit as a beta, at least, to spot the usual misspellings and other common grammar mistakes. I probably won't comb through the story for tense mismatch-ups, though, unless it's really obvious.
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I usually read yaoi and gen. But het is fine with me as long as it doesn't go into way too much detail.
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I will not beta yuri. Sorry. I also don't like to beta super kinky things, but considering the rating of this site, I doubt I'll run into that.
