Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I will beta for pretty much anybody. I graduated high school and got an SAT English score over 600. I am very well read and English is one of my strong points. I expect that the person I beta-read for will accept honest criticism and use it constructively. When I beta-read, I will correct any spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. I will add comments on how the author might improve their story, but I will not change anything directly. If the author sees fit to tell me the whole plot I will endeavor to help and perfect said plot, but all the final work must be done by the author. I also expect that anybody I beta for will understand if I cannot respond the same day. Everyone has a busy life, though I try my best. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am terrific at spelling and grammar. I know how to keep a story flowing well. I have a wonderful imagination and my friends all say that my randomness makes me an original thinker. I have read a lot. And I don't mean like 50 books, try around 300 probably more. I am not kidding. I began writing and reading in kindergarten and I haven't stopped since. I read the Lotr trilogy, the Chronicles of Narnia, and the Wizard of Oz series before I even finished fifth grade. I can also read really fast, an example of that is that I finished reading Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows the same day it came out, before midnight. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My weakness is that I tend to be too nice. I have a little trouble with punctuation errors, but I'm not too bad. When I write, I don't usually put out more than 2,000 words a chapter. I am a little impatient, but I will slow down enough to really look things over, and not skip around when I beta-read. |

Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I will beta-read almost anything. I will read lemon, lime, slash, yaoi, yuri, and so on. However, I will not beta-read for a story that is another 'High-School' or Gakuen type. I don't really like them so unless you have a super original plot I won't work with it. |
