Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta reader, I look mostly for proper grammar and spelling in a fanfic. I don't want to change the writer's style too much, because everyone has their own unique style and I wouldn't want to change that. However, grammar and spelling mistakes are unforgivable, and I'll do my best to fix those up. =) I like to think of myself as a nice person who will work with most anyone, but I do have a few expectations. It would be nice if 1) you're polite 2) you at least try to write well and with proper grammar and 3) I know the genre that you write in.
I am not the most coherent of persons (you would know that if you've read any of my reviews) and I tend to go on and on and on. But I believe I'd be a good beta! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am, in all honesty, a good writer. I have pride in my writing skill and proper use of grammar and spelling. I'm a pretty good speller, and I can spot typos from a mile away. ;) (Not to brag, of course! xD) |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I can be a bit of a slacker/procrasinator, and it may take me one day or one month to beta your story/chapter. However, I'll try my best to be speedy! |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Oneshots are great, but I'm not sure if many people beta that. (I'm new to this beta-ing idea!) Besides that, I enjoy stories that are unique and exciting, perhaps action/adventure or drama. I also LOVE character development, so if you're story has any belivable character development in it, then I'll gladly beta it! =) |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Stories with any sort of smut or serious romance, I cannot beta. (I'm too young for that!) Also, overly angsty and depressing stories are, well, not my cup of tea. Parodies and humorous stories aren't all that much to my liking, either. |
