Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I can beta for all BB canons - both films, Best of, BB Private, the BB novel, and mixtures of all.
I will BETA all ratings, including MA fic that you will be posting elsewhere, such as AFFN.
The only thing I ask from those who request my help is that you WAIT A MINIUM OF 2 WEEKS before giving up on me. If you decide to go ahead and post your story only a few days after asking for my help, I will consider the job over and will not finish proofing. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm strong at spotting OOCness and dialect oddities (accents, etc.) I can pick up general grammar and syntax errors, especially if English isn't your first language. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not exactly a "grammar Nazi". I tend toward a more colloquial style of writing on my own, so I will be lenient in this aspect (ie, fragments for dramatic effect, etc.) |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Original movie, BB2000, slash, gen, het (canon females), dark, death, horror, offspring. If it's not on the "NO" list, I'll take a look at it. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
OC girlfriend/lover/one night stand/wife-centric fics. Borderline Sues/blatant Sues. Fics that bash any character, esp. BB2000. Not really a fan of parodies, they tend to be full of inside jokes. |
