Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I have beta-ed for one person on a regular basis, and her stories have gotten a fair amount of absolutely amazing reviews. I'm an absolute English/Grammar/Vocab FREAK, so I enjoy beta-ing almost as much as I enjoy reading and writing. I expect my writers to be able to take constructive criticism with a smile, and be completely honest with me. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I would say that my strengths in beta-ing are, for the majority, in grammar and spelling, sometimes in wording/voice. If you want to develop your style, I suggest you look elsewhere... |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Again, I'm not too open-minded or observant of writing style. I can tell you when a sentence is worded awkwardly, but for any style-issues, I'm not the best person to ask. I consider myself as a by-the-books gramatical beta-er. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would prefer to beta fictions in fandoms that I read (Harry Potter, Naruto, Psych, etc.); there are so many that I'd have to tell you whether or not I know it when you ask me. I'm open to pretty much any genre from angst to gushy romance... |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I would not betaread any fiction based in a fandom I am not familiar with. In any other case, I'm okay with whatever. |
