Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Um, I'm not very much into betareading but if you want me to I'll try my best. Although my stories aren't very well...corrected, I can correct FF created by other authors easily. I've been editing stuff at school, for my friends and classmates for a while now, about four years. I'm quite blunt so if there's something wrong with the story(ies), I will point it out. Sometimes I can be harsh, but I'll keep it as simple and clear as I can be. I'm a very reliable person that has to have anything and everything in by a deadline unless something serious comes up or if I cannot do a job right. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm good at identifying OOCness and I can keep characters in...well in character. I'm great with punctuation and I'll read over every line to make sure all that is all good. I'm pretty much fine with spelling, although I can be absentminded at points and misspell some words. I'm pretty alright with structuring a story and I can give out ideas that may help you with your story. Oh yes, here's something for you. I can keep plots and deadlines....
A large pet peeve of mine is when someone cannot understand the differences between "Their" "They're" and "There" or other homonyms.
If you need help developing characters or if you're trying to write an OC, I can identify a Marysue off the bat, and I'll even give you suggestions to correcting the character. I love developing characters, xD I occasionally do so in my sleep.xD |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I can't do grammar. I absolutely suck when if comes to grammar. As a writer, myself, I procrastinate a lot. If I don't have a deadline I tend to put things off. However there will be times where my life interferes with my writing, so during those times I refuse to do anything. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm very blunt and sometimes my comments about a story can be taken the wrong way and I'm sorry if you take it the wrong way but if you attempt to flame me, I'll flame you right back. But overall, my reviews and comments are suggestions to better your story, I'm just there to read and review.
When it comes to hard core love stories and writing as though I was in "love" are the some of the hardest subjects for me to write about. But I can write fluff, and cutesy things. Just not hardcore love scenes. I do try though, and that's something I have been getting better at. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I love OCs I really do. I'll edit anything with an OC, if it's a Marysue, please read above. I don't mind some Shonen-Ai(like really, really, really soft stuff) but there are some couples that just I suck at writing(SasuSaku?). Anything Humor and romance.xD I really enjoy reading stuff like that.But above all anything Anime or Manga. That's my strongest point. I would totally beta ANY oneshot. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Please I can't read anything outside of English. There is one thing about OC stories that I can't stand. If it the OC has a bad past or rape. I can't deal with that due to personally problems with my friends. Please no yaoi or yuri. I have no clue how to write those. And probably, most likely, you could just assume, no lemons.
I refuse, I absolutely refuse to edit anything that spells good "G-U-D" or replaces "wrote"or "written" with "Wrotted." And if anything that is submitted to me that " typ 2 meh liek dis"...please, read the dictionary and just don't bother send it to me.'Cause if you do, I won't be able to tolerate it and honestly hunt you down.
And honestly I cannot edit anything too emo or whiny... And poetry is not my cup of tea. |
