Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta-reader, I prefer almost-finished works, as opposed to stories that are require my assistance in completing. I also point out informational errors as often as possible, so as not to create further problems. I am able to glance through a paragraph and notice at least eighty-percent of the errors there, depending on when I do it (don't ask me why, but I'm prone to making mistakes late at night; weird).
I expect people who contact me to be (at least mildly) polite, but nothing else. *chuckles* No bribes or anything, either. I'll probably accept any fanfiction. Although I don't usually like works using leet or ways of writing that use shorthand forms (which shouldn't be on any official paperwork, unless it's speech). Most of the time, I will say to replace the Arabian numerics with the actual word, depending on its value - so don't be forced to do that. I also like to extend abbreviations (like "Mr." to "mister").
I almost always (at least, from now on) rate stories on a scale of zero to ten, and I think of myself as an unbiased person, giving out ratings as fair as possible (usually on content; I will post otherwise if it is on other errors). And if there's something else you wanna know about me (nothing too personal), then just send me a private message.
As a writer, I seem to be oriented in serious works, and do not tolerate sloppy work - yes, I'm a perfectionist! I do have a sense of humor (a unique one), but my stories tend to be more serious and suspenseful than others. I personally think my literature sways towards the young-adult to adult side; then again, that's only me. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm good with mostly spelling and grammar. I don't consider myself excelling at details, but I'm okay at them. I have more knowledge on things I like, so on some topics I will know close to nothing about, and will only be able to give support on conventional errors.

My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not extensively good at vocabulary, and am always trying to improve myself in that category. Also, I occasionally overuse certain symbols (such as parentheses, hyphens, and semicolons), so don't always take my word with those things. I'm also prone to unnecessary capitalization - I capitlize some things that don't need it, due to my experiences at certain forums - but it's not a huge deal.
I have been told my stories are somewhat confusing and the chapters are short, and that I switch topics often. I try to refrain from such seemingly-ADHD activities, as I do not have that disorder. It just happens to me naturally...
