Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
My goal is to help improve a person's writing, mainly via grammar, spelling, plot line, character make-up and scene setting. Please do check your own work before sending it to me, it makes my life more easier and I can concentrate on more detailed things than your odd typo, bunchy paragraphs or mild grammar mistakes. I do try make constructive criticism and am trying to be as supportive as possible towards your writing. I advise you to keep a second copy of whatever you're sending me to beta so you can compare and see what's different. Beta-ing is a long process so please do be patient, I will if you'd like make regular update you how far I'm at.
I also don't mind beta-ing OC-oriental stories either, I have done my fair share and read quite a few so I know the drill. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'd like to think I'm good at humorous writing, my original characters tend to be quite deranged but I know how to keep one's personality consistent and how they may develop. I put effort into describing things and locations with extensive vocab, but not to a sickening over-use. Also I do my best in building up tension towards an impactive scenario, since I love that sort of thing. |

Warning: I am terribly unobservant to little quirks you add to your writing or inside jokes. Please do tell if I've missed anything out. I sometimes also make little trip ups on grammar and spelling myself, hopefully it will not stand out too much...
Also, I'm not very experienced in the romance field. Not much of a romantic person myself as well, but I'm willing to look at it. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'm familiar to all genres and am a flexible writer. Though I'm more capable with humor, supernatural, drama, action. Oh yes, I specialize in funtastic characters, give me a message if you need a hand with that. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Extremely heavy angst and drama is not really my thing, I tend to get a little depressed myself when writing continuously intense stories. I prefer not to go into sexual themes too deep, I'm also okay with any sort of pairing as long as it doesn't go into the M section. |
